Welcome to A Complete Unknown, a deluxe artist's book by legendary photographer Charles Gatewood.
Each 11 x 14-inch handmade book contains quality reproductions of rare Dylan photos, shot in Stockholm, Sweden on April 29, 1966. Most of these extraordinary photographs have never been seen or published until now. This edition is designed and published by Dana Dana Dana Limited Editions.
The paper is a 100%cotton, 190 gsm, matte, digitally prepared, archival, PH neutral, ivory colored paper printed with archival pigment based inks. We chose to use Garamond as our font for the body of the text. The book is entirely hand-made, each page is hand-sewn into the hardcover, archival binding board and canvas cover. Each book is finished by coloring distracting threads to create a seamless viewing experience for these full page, dramatic images. Each book is numbered and signed by Charles Gatewood.
Special editions numbered 1 through 10 include 3 11"x14" photographs of images from the book. Books numbered 11 through 20 also include three 8 x 10 signed photograhic prints of images from the book.These photographs are professionally printed photos made in the traditional way with black & white fiber based photographic paper and a semi-matte finish. They are presented in archival sleeves.
